Attract 300,000 foreign tourists to Daegu’

 

For a successful IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011, Daegu city government will conclude MOU with 19 exclusive regional travel agencies(China-7, Japan-4, Southeast Asia-6, America*Europe-2) and promote press meeting in 16th Dec 2010.

 

Daegu city government has designated 19 travel agencies for upcoming IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011, which has increased in numbers from 12 of last year.

 

These exclusive agencies will cooperate to plan and advertise Daegu city’s tour products in abroad.

 

Exclusive agencies will receive various kinds of benefits depending on their tour products and sales grade. And also, they will be given a priority to join in various kinds of Daegu city’s PR events and Daegu city government will support these agencies in administrative processes in relation to receiving foreign tourists.

 

Comparing to last year, designated more agencies for China and Southeast Asia.

 

And for Japanese tourists, Daegu city government will cooperate with Busan regional travel agencies specializing in Japanese tourists entering through Busan.

 

Regional exclusive travel agencies are as following. Hana Tour International, Aju Workd Travel, Korea-China Business Center, Lotte Tour, KOnC Tour and Cheonnunae Tour for Chinese tourists.

 

BK Travel Agency, Four Season Tour Service, James Tour, Yushin Tour, Sungguang Air Tour and Exco Tour are for Southeast Asia. Chess Tours, All Nation tour, Sehan Tour and Modu Tour International are for Japanese tourists. Aju Incentive and US Tour are for America and Europe.

 

Yoon Jinwon, a chief officer of Daegu city government’s Culture and Tourism Bureau, stated that Daegu city government will devote all energy to attract 300,000 foreign tourists by promoting various tour products that are related to IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 and also to Daegu city’s regional features in cooperation with designated travel agencies.
